The Roomlands and the future of Colostle

Hey Roomlanders!

Thanks for all your support so far, the campaign is going incredibly and I'm so excited that this book is already definitely happening! I thought I'd tell you a bit about my thoughts on the positioning of this book in the greater Colostle library and some of my thoughts for the future.

The Roomlands

I'm so excited for this new book and for all the enhancements I hope it will make to your explorations of the Colostle. I very much see 'The Roomlands' as an expansion to the base rules, adding elements and rules for enhancing the base game, without getting in the way of the stories you want to tell with your character. To this end, I have designed the content to be top level rather than fundamental changes to the gameplay and rules, or super restrictive. This should hopefully allow more detail and more inspiration for your existing adventures, OR allow you to start a whole new adventure in a world that is both familiar and new, at the same time. 

Basically 'The Roomlands' completes the base Colostle experience.

Future content/Campaign modules

Additionally to that, 'The Search for the Seastone' campaign is an example of how I imagine future content will behave. With the base rulebook and 'The Roomlands' forming the foundation of the Colostle experience, future content will be more story/campaign led. Still affording you a lot of freedom to tell your own story, but taking you on a journey; to uncover real, large scale stories and new lore and discover new places. I'll guide you there, introduce you to new concepts, mechanics and NPCs, and then you decide what you and your character do when you get there!

With 'Search for the Seastone' being within the pages of 'The Roomlands' I'm hoping the whole of this book will function as both an enhancement of the base game and glimpse of what is to come. I have HUGE (colossal, even!) plans for the future of this world and the places you will go, and if you're up for me taking your hand, a whole adventure planned out for you all!

I hope that is all as exciting for you, as it is for me! And I hope this update makes it even clearer to you all, the nature of this book and what your support will do, both for this book and the future of Colostle. 

I'm not getting ahead of myself though. I am 100% focused on this book and making it the best it can be. I just wanted to let you know that there is a future for this and that by getting involved now, you are a part of something that will grow in time! 

In future updates I will give you some more sneak peeks of what you can expect to find in the pages of 'The Roomlands' (without giving too much away!) and how it will enhance your existing adventures in the Colostle! I'm really proud of some of the stuff in this book!

Well.... i'm a bit blown away!!

Thank you Roomlanders, both old and new, for your incredible support of Colostle and the new book. I am so over the moon with the first 24 hours of this campaign, I can't quite believe it. THE BOOK IS DEFINITELY HAPPENING!! WOO!!!

For those of you that backed the previous Colostle Kickstarter and are already existing fans, thank you so much for coming back for the next book, that means the world to me, it really does.

And for those of you who are new to Colostle, welcome!! Its so good to have you here and I appreciate you so much! You're about to discover a whole new world and an awesome community of wickedly creative people too.

Other than that, i'm just going to sit back and take this in for a bit!

Depending on how it progresses, I'll let you know what I might be doing with regards to stretch goals etc. Rather than adding on additional physical stuff, I would like to simply add more content to the book to make it even beefier with new ways to play, new art and new lore. (although someone did say something about an enamel pin badge, and I would love to create a Roomlander badge that we could all wear as though we were part of a secret society of explorers... or something. What do you think?)

I have so many ideas for the future of this world and this game, and a second successful kickstarter means so much for the potential future of this game and a recognition of my work as a creator... so thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
