Job Packs - more information and artwork

Hey Roomlanders!

I wanted to give you some more information about the job packs as I have had a few questions about them, plus I'm super excited to share some more work that I have done on them. The following images should give you more of an idea of how the packs will look and work:

The Cartographer:

The cartographer pack will have an A5 templated mapping journal that will have a page layout that allows for the creation of maps from the cards you drew from the bespoke mapping card deck. The journal will also contain the specific cartographer rules at the front. The card deck will be around 30 cards (TBC) and will feature everything from the encounter table in top-down 'map style' along with some new bonus encounters.

The Researcher:

The researcher pack will have a dedicated A5 field-notes journal that will have a page layout that allows for the creation of a field guide that documents all the unique Rooks you have discovered - as information you can share with other adventurers. The journal will also contain the specific researcher rules at the front. The card deck will be around 40-50 cards (TBC) and will feature a wide variety of weird characteristics which when combined together at random will allow you to create and draw your strange stone opponents!

The Rooksmith:

The rooksmith pack will have a unique inventors notebook with a page layout that functions as your inventors crafting table or workshop. Input your collected components into your inventory and then use the 'design' space to try out combinations. Then present your 'final prototype' and include notes and a special ability that players can gain from using your invention! The journal will also contain the specific rooksmith rules at the front. The card deck will be around 40 cards (TBC) and will include a whole host of weird and wonderful components for you to combine however you want and create strange new items!

So there you go! I wanted to get these images and info out before the end of the campaign so that you can make your decision on which you want to go for with the most information possible. These packs will also be available in the Backerkit as add-ons and also in the Colostle shop once the campaign finishes, so this won't be the only place you can get them.

New shipping estimates and information

Hey all,

Just a quick one from me to say that I have updated the main page with new shipping cost estimates, taking into account the new Job packs add-ons, as a few people have asked for them. You can see them below here too:

Also, to keep costs down i'm calculating shipping using untracked prices. However, if anything goes wrong with your order and its not your fault, I will send a replacement copy out free of charge. If it's due to an incorrectly entered address or some other similar error, I'll ask that you pay cost price + shipping to send out another copy.

I will also not be paying VAT or customs charges for deliveries so when your order arrives in your country you may have to pay a small additional customs fee. This is usually very small or sometimes non-existent at all.

Issues with adding the new add-ons to an existing pledge

Hey guys,

I have heard from a few of you that you are having trouble adding the new add-ons to your pledge, and in some cases are not able to see them at all. Hopefully this little guide will help clear things up a little.

To add new add-ons to your pre-existing pledge:

First you need to select 'Manage your pledge' at the top of the campaign home page:

Then when you see your pledge, you want to press the button 'change your pledge':

Then , you're going to need to RESELECT your existing pledge. Hit the green button that says 'Pledge £X' on your already selected reward tier:

Then you should see all the add-ons appear underneath your selected reward tier and you can add whichever ones you like:

Hopefully this should help. If you are still not seeing the new add-ons here then there might be a caching issue with your browser. Try clearing your cache or restarting your browser, or computer, or refreshing the page and try again.

Let me know if it still doesn't work by commenting on this update and I'll see what I can do.

NEW ADD-ONS - Cartographer, Researcher and Rooksmith Job Packs

Roomlanders!

I am over the moon to announce some new add-ons that I have been working on for a while, and since the campaign is going so well, I think I'm in a position to add! Its still early days, so I only have placeholder art for the moment and rough prototypes but I will be able to share more very soon... so without further ado, introducing...

The Colostle Job Packs!

How do you fancy making a life for yourself in the Colostle with a real life job that could earn you treasures to spend in game? These brand new add-ons will allow just that with unique cards, mechanics and A5 templated journals to allow you to work your chosen profession within the Roomlands.

The Cartographer - has a unique deck of full-colour cards that are laid out on the table every exploration phase, showing you the lay of the land in a physical layout so that you can start to create an 'atlas' of the Roomlands as you explore - with added mechanics for 'watchtowers' that allow you to see further and temporarily enhance your exploration score.

The Researcher - challenges you to discover unique Rooks with strange quirks and characteristics and document them in your templated 'field-notebook'. Draw cards with unique descriptors that add a 'weird' element to a Rook and then take it down -, writing up your research to sell to the Hunter's Guild.

The Rooksmith - the scavenger/inventors choice! When you defeat a Rook or explore the Roomlands, draw unique 'component' cards and then combine them in imaginative ways in your templated 'inventors notebook' to create new items or gadgets to sell or use for yourself!

These 'jobs' are additional to your character's main story journal. You can work as much or as little of your job as you like, and it all contributes to the greater story of your character's adventures in the Colostle. OR, alternatively, you could focus on just your job, its entirely up to you and the play style you want from the game!

If you like the look of one or more of these job packs, they are now available as an additional add-on on the Kickstarter. Simply click 'Manage Pledge' on the Kickstarter page and you can go in and add one to your pledge. They are all £15 each.

I will be able to share what the insides of the journals and examples of what the cards look like soon enough, but rest assured they will be created to the same quality and style as the existing deck of cards and journal!

Of course, these jobs are all additional/expansions and are not required to enjoy the base/main game of Colostle. Everything you need to play the main game is contained within the 2 Hardbacks. These are an optional bit of fun to add variety to your adventures if you fancy it!

Sneak Peek #1 - Rookhomes

Hey Roomlanders,

Thanks again for all your continued support of Colostle, you guys really are the best! I'm so excited how this campaign is growing, the success of this will allow for a lot of really exciting stuff, both for this book and beyond! And I have a lot of ideas for 'beyond'!

I'm busy working on new art and content that will appear in the book and I thought I would share a work-in-progress on a piece of artwork that will be appearing in a very special section: Rookhomes.

Thanks to new combat mechanics added in this book for fighting Rooks from 'within', you will be able to make a defeated Rook your very own walking home! But this is possible only if the Rook is defeated in this unique way, which has new rules and mechanics to make it a little trickier! There are, of course, plenty of bonuses for having a Rookhome!

This artwork will be fully coloured for the book, but I thought I'd share it with you for now as a sneak peek! I'm very excited about this new part of the rules! It forms part of adding more to the general day-to-day life of living in the Colostle, which will form part of the new book too.

I hope this looks fun to you, I can't wait to finish colouring this in (its already taken a good few hours just to draw it!)
